Fo Guang Shan Water Drop Teahouse Selangor is a vegetarian café and deli tucked into the quieter part of Taman Universiti in Petaling Jaya. The space is notably spacious and calm, making it a good spot for those who appreciate a more relaxed and contemplative dining experience away from the usual hustle. The atmosphere has a gentle, easygoing pace, fitting for a midday break or an early evening meal when you want to unwind.

The menu here offers a focused selection of vegetarian dishes that manage to blend familiar local flavors with some international touches. You’ll find comforting options like Vegetarian Nasi Lemak and Bak Kut Teh alongside Creamy Pesto Pasta and unique items like Monkey Head Mushroom rendang. Portions tend to be generous, particularly with dishes like the nasi lemak, which draws appreciation for its hearty and authentic feel.

The teahouse operates on a self-service model where you order and pick up your food at the counter, which suits those who prefer a no-fuss approach. Peak quietness seems to settle in after 8pm as they wind down the last orders – a good time to enjoy the peaceful vibe without a crowd.

Patrons regularly highlight the depth of flavors in their soups, such as the ginger meesua soup, which stands out for its pronounced ginger hit — ideal for anyone who likes something with a bit of a warming kick. Noodle dishes here aren’t your typical hawker fare; they come with a level of refinement that will appeal to people looking for vegetarian options that go beyond the standard. For those wanting comfort food with a twist, dishes like the vegetarian curry noodle and mushroom pesto spaghetti provide a satisfying toolkit of tastes.

What visitors might notice is the moderate pricing — it’s not the cheapest option around, but many find it fair given the environment and the careful preparation. Service is casual and functional, though it leaves some room for smoother flow during busier periods.

This spot suits anyone who wants a quiet place to enjoy vegetarian fare in a laid-back setting, especially locals or travelers who appreciate a good variety without a sprawling menu to navigate. The calm interior and healthy, creative offerings make it an inviting alternative for a simple meal or a quiet catch-up over food.

Not the cheapest meal but this place has a nice chill vibe. Spacious too The food price range isn't the cheapest but I guess it is okay for someone who wanna try once or twice. The ginger meesua soup has strong ginger taste which I liked it.

First of all I like how cosy the environment is. I like the amount of options they have, It is not a big menu, so you don’t have to think too long about what to eat… I personally love their nasi lemak, bakuteh and pesto pasta! The nasi Lemak is a big portion, really enjoy the monkey head mushroom rendang! As for the pesto pasta, it is creamy & flavourful!

Almost 5 stars... Been here a few times but don't remember ordering noodles. So, noodles night. All good and great. Specially the noodles, not the usual ones from the hawkers/shops. What can be improved? Service can be much better. Food choices and tastes were good but as usual, have a bit of room for improvement. Price is slightly... Just slightly higher than usual? Fact that they can have 2 shop units means they're doing great. Hope they continue to improve and prosper

Visit on: 8 May 2024 Self-service to order and pickup at counter. The ginger soup mee xian and vinegar pork rice are good smell and delicious. My first try on these umpling (vege). It's almost the same taste as dumpling with meat filling. Noticed that 8pm was already starting last order and put the sign as close.

We dined at this establishment twice, finding the curry noodles exceptionally delicious. Other dishes, including the Bak Kut Teh, were also excellent. The overall food quality and ambiance were highly satisfactory. However, service requires improvement, particularly regarding the attentiveness of a senior staff member who demonstrated a lack of engagement and proactive recommendations. The cashier, conversely, provided friendly and helpful service.

More comfortable and spacious now after the renovation. It has been extended to the next shop lot. There are more varieties of food and beverages at very reasonable price. Highly recommend not only for vegetarians but also those would like to try something different.
